I have a little male Chihuahua that has a bladder stone. He’s been fine the last few weeks but he was peeing with blood in his urine and that was the reason I took him to the vet one about 4 weeks. He was otherwise highly energetic at 16 years old. Jumps up on the couch and runs along the fence line to hang out with the big puppy next door. They did x-rays to find it but couldn’t tell me if it was struvite or calcium oxalate. These are the two they suspected. Would a urinalysis not have identified the type of stone? I figured it would be helpful to know which type of stone it is. I was told if it was calcium oxalate it would need surgery but that if it’s struvite the prescription food which is Pro Plan UR might help. They said in 4 to 6 weeks to do another x-ray and if it hadn’t shrunk then it must be calcium oxalate and that he would need surgery. Thoughts anyone? I was advised the cost would be about $3,000. I inherited three chihuahuas after my brother passed away. So it’s pretty stressful both in terms of their health and financially.
Ok but can anyone confirm if this actually worked for their pets, Iβm so worked up cause recently my baby stopped wanting to eat, she moves around and plays but I want to see if anyone it worked for them
Hey Doc. Check on a natural product called BREAK IT UP! By Natura Pets Organics.. And please tell me what you think. My dog has had those small all different color stones since he had his initial set of shots as a puppy. I’m not saying vaccines caused it. That’s just when he began having them as a puppy. He had all his shots the first year and then I said no more because I believe immunity works in animals just like in people. We don’t get yearly vaccines and are still immune to MMR from childhood vaccines. I know he’ll be required to get another Rabies shot before a Veterinarian will see him and I’ll do that…. Before I found the BREAK IT UP on Chewy, I used Apple cider and raw honey, and it worked for a while. BREAK IT UP was working great, but not as well now. He’s 7 years old now. Are you near Georgia? I’d love to bring him to you. I love him so much. Please tell me what to do…. And he runs from Apple cider vinegar now.. What about baking soda in water?
